Lets be honest with all the to-do’s we as moms have, it is difficult to remember/book/have time to focus on photo sessions! And although it is an investment and a chunk out of your budget, the rewards are endless.

I try to commit to a family shoot once a year for my family, you should to! The easiest way is to think of a day/time in the year where you are all usually together, and book it around a gathering of some sorts. Many of my clients book me in December during their holidays. Winter is usually also great because there are less functions you attend, and the farm or my studio is ideal during winter sessions. Our fields turn golden in winter, and if it is too cold, you can do a session in my studio. I will post more on that soon! Some parents book it first thing in the new year, so that you still have energy and zeal after the summer holiday.

Whenever you book a family shoot, just remember it doesn’t have to be perfect, you don’t need a complete new wardrobe and weather is not an issue.

This shoot, during winter,turned out quite colourful and I am in Love with some of these portraits of my kids. Now I am glad I did them, even though it wasn’t an ideal time, place, season, wardrobe, mood etc!
